Principles of Works

CHRISTIAN WORK.

This has reference to what we do and are for Christ. The quality of our works is to be good.

Ⅰ. Christ is our Example. “ I have finished the work” (John 17:4).

Ⅱ. Faith is the principle. “ If ye were Abraham’s children ye would do the works of Abraham” (John 8:39).

Ⅲ. Love is the motive. “ She hath wrought a good work” (Matt.26:10).

Ⅳ. Word of God is our authority. “Let your light so shine……see your good works” (Matt.5:16).

Ⅴ. Holy Spirit is our power. “Created in Christ Jesus unto good works” (Eph.2:10).

Ⅵ. Good is their character. Dorcas—“ Full of good works” (Acts 9:36).

Ⅶ. Evidence of faith in Christ. Rahab—“ Justified by works” (James.2:25).

Ⅷ. Tested at the judgment seat. “ The fire shall try every man’s work” (1. Cor.3:13).
