Laughter

It is really a natural trend to lapse into taking oneself gravely because it is the easiest thing to do… for solemnity flows out of men naturally but laughter is a leap. It is easy to be heavy; hard to be light. Satan fell by force of gravity.—G. K. Chesterton

 

HONEY.

. The manna that fell in the wilderness tasted like honey. “ The taste of it was like wafers made with honey” (Exodus 16:31).

. The land of Canaan which is typical of earthly blessing to the full is said to be a land flowing with milk and honey. “ I am come…to bring…unto a land flowing with milk and honey” (Exodus 3:8).

. The abundance of God’s favour and grace is likened to honey. “He made him to suck honey out of the rock” (Deut. 32:13).

. The preciousness and sweetness of God’s Word are—“ Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb” (Psalm 19:10).

. Pleasant words and sweetness of expression are compared to honey. “ Pleasant words are as an honeycomb sweet to the soul” (Proverbs 16:24).

. Christ’s delight in His people when they are bringing forth fruit is as a feast to Him. “ I have eaten My honeycomb with My honey” (Solomon’s Song 5:1).

. Pleasures of sin and the lusts of the flesh are likened to honey. “ For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb” Proverbs 5:3.
